I am a Professor at the State University of Minas Gerais (UEMG) in Ituiutaba, MG, Brazil, where I coordinate the "Núcleo de Extensão e Pesquisa em Ecologia e Evolução" (NEPEE). I advise researchers in the Graduate Program in Ecology and Conservation of Natural Resources (PPGECRN) at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), in Uberlândia, MG, Brazil. I have a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), master's and doctorate from the PPGECRN at UFU. I use arthropods, mainly spiders, as study models, as well as mathematical modeling and meta-analysis to investigate hypotheses related to behavioral ecology and sexual selection, with an emphasis on assortative mating, mate choice, intrasexual competition and parental care. I also study foraging strategies, community ecology, biological conservation, and biological control with NEPEE Team. I develop educational projects at the Ituiutaba community and disseminate science through the "Rios de Ciência" project on social media: Instagram and YouTube.
